Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Georgia license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

Additional Details:

Required Credentials: Basic cardiac rhythm/EKG competency exam required as part of compliance.

Unit Details: Adult Med-Surg/Telemetry patients include acute and chronic disease, post-op surgeries, and common comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, infections, CHF, and electrolyte imbalances. Unit work includes trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts, Glucommander, insulin drips, heparin drips, heart-rate titratable drips, IV insertion and care, central line management, wound care, post-op monitoring, and cardiac monitoring/telemetry interpretation. Uses Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, Phillips monitors, VS3 vital sign monitors, Nova Glucose Stat Strips, portable vital sign monitors (Dynamapp), bladder scanners, portable oxygen systems, external fixators, chest tubes, JP drains, Hemovac drains, PCA pain management, and suction machines. Support includes 2-3 CNAs per shift, a unit secretary 7a-11p with housewide call secretary 11p-7a, lab-collect phlebotomy with nurses drawing from CVLs, a PICC team, discharge nurses, resource team support, and central telemetry monitoring. Uses admission/discharge protocols for rapid turnover.

Shift & Scheduling: Weekend rotation: 6 shifts on a 6-week schedule (6 out of 12 shifts). Travelers will work 75% of holidays. No call.

Floating Requirements: Float to all adult med-surg/telemetry units in house.

14 days maximum time off

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 12 months

Proof of identification required

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)

• CMSRN (Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse) or the alternative certification RN-BC
