Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Experience:
• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.
• Experience with Epic is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: ED RN positions require 2 years of ED experience (Resource Team). Med/Tele RN positions require 2 years of Med/Tele experience (Resource Team). Med/Tele RN required skills include stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, Foley insertion/management, etc.), and PCA pumps. Medication gtt management includes cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IVF.
Special Requests: Up to 6 days off may be approved, excluding holidays; if contracted hours cannot be met, time must be added to the end of the contract.
Unit Details: Travelers will most often be hired as Med/Tele RNs to cover ED holds and will be cross-trained for ED tasks, including IV starts and labs. Common ED diagnoses include stroke, CHF, electrolyte imbalance, arrhythmias, respiratory arrest, sepsis, COPD, falls, and MVCs. The RN patient ratio is 1:5 maximum and depends on acuity. The CNA patient ratio is 1:7. The unit uses Encompass, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Philips monitors, a bladder scanner, SCDs, telemetry monitoring, and BiPAP.
Shift & Scheduling: Scheduled Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Weekend rotation is every other weekend. No call for travelers. Travelers will work 75% of holidays.
Floating Requirements: Travelers will be required to float per Region 1 needs, as needed and within scope of practice, to Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, any freestanding ED within the region, Lake Norman, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH).
