Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 1 month within the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a North Carolina license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: - Med/Tele RN requires a general Med/Tele skill set, including stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, Foley insertion/management, etc.), and PCA pumps. - Medication drip management is required, including cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IV fluids.

Special Requests: - Up to 6 days off may be approved, excluding holidays; time must be added to the end of the contract if contracted hours cannot be met.

Unit Details: - Travelers will most often be hired as Med/Tele RNs to cover ED holds and will be cross-trained to perform tasks in the ED, including IV starts and labs. - Common ED diagnoses include stroke, CHF, electrolyte imbalance, arrhythmias, respiratory arrest, sepsis, COPD, falls, and motor vehicle collisions. - Patient ratios: RN 1:5 maximum, acuity dependent; CNA 1:7. - Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication-dispensing systems, Philips monitors, a bladder scanner, SCDs, telemetry monitoring, and BiPAP.

Shift & Scheduling: - Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights. - Every other weekend. - No call. - Travelers will work 75% of holidays.

Floating Requirements: - Floating is required, as needed and within scope of practice, to all Region 1 facilities: Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, any freestanding ED within the region, Lake Norman, and Central Division (CMC Main, Mercy, and LCH).

6 days maximum time off

1 Manager reference required from within the last 12 months

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
