Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse - $2070 per week.

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• 3 months of Cerner experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to read and interpret telemetry.

Submission Limit: Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility. Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. The clinician may not have been employed full time, part time, or PRN by any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year.

Unit Details: Patient population includes surgical cases such as total hip and knee replacement, small bowel resection, hysterectomy, and exploratory lap procedures; medical cases include MRSA, C. difficile infections, suicide attempts, drug or alcohol withdrawal, COPD, pneumonia, and COVID; telemetry cases include chest pain. The assignment includes caring for both MST and PCU patients. The clinician must be willing to precept nursing students. Typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6; if no nursing assistant is available, the RN takes 3 patients and provides primary care. Patients may include stable CPAP or BiPAP cases.

Shift & Scheduling: The clinician works every other weekend, on Saturday and Sunday for the day shift. Holiday rotation is used to distribute holidays fairly. During low census, staff rotate standby turns; travelers may or may not be included in the rotation depending on the contract.

Floating Requirements: The clinician is first to float. The clinician must float to the Multi Care Unit and Pediatric Unit to care for adult MST patients and to the West Campus MedSurg Tele unit.
