Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Virginia license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >100 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Preferred Skills/Experience: Previous Charge Experience: Preferred Teaching hospital experience is preferred. Community hospital experience is preferred.

Required Credentials: BSN required for international clinicians.

Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. 3000 typically sees general medical, acute-care patients with a longer length of stay. 3100 sees more renal/cardiac patients, while 3200 is more pulmonary/cardiac patients and where all COVID-19-positive patients are attempted to be placed. Patient population includes bacteremia, sepsis, altered mental status, heart failure, renal failure (hemodialysis & PD), electrolyte abnormalities, diabetes, GI bleeds, endo (pre/post op), COVID/TB (3200 only, preferred), cellulitis, chest pain OBS, and pneumonia. Continuous bladder irrigation is used. Contract RN/LPN team members are expected to actively participate in nursing student support and clinical education as we prepare future nurses for the profession. The clinical nursing student education responsibility is expected in addition to/alongside the provision of clinical care practice in every nursing specialty at Ballad Health.

Shift & Scheduling: Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week. Rotating weekends and holidays. No call.

Floating Requirements: PCU competencies preferred.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required
