Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Cerner is preferred.

Special Requests Cannot apply to more than one job order on the same unit and shift at the facility.

Unit Details No charge duties. One nurse aide on nights, one on mid shift, and 3-4 on days. Uses Philips telemetry; monitor tech available. Nurses read telemetry strips. Common drips include amiodarone, heparin, cardizem, fixed-rate insulin, nitro, and dopamine (renal dosing only). No vents, but may care for patients on BiPAP or CPAP. Hospitalist/intensivist coverage is on call after hours. No IV team. RT available 24/7. After 10 PM, after-hours pharmacy support is through Marian. 300 unit patient population includes surgical, ortho, and medical patients; may receive heparin. Main unit is more cardiac focused with stepdown-type acuity, including post-cath, post-pacemaker, post-PCI, TAVR day 1 or greater, CABG day 1 or greater, sepsis, and respiratory distress.

Shift & Scheduling Every other weekend (4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule). Holidays are worked with permanent staff rotation.

Floating Requirements Must float between the 300 unit and the main unit; first to float.
