Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Cerner is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Wisconsin license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <80 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 6 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility.

Special Requests: Must take full 6 months off from any Sanford Health or Good Samaritan Society location as well. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Former Marshfield employees must have an end date at least 6 months before submission. Self-scheduling is not available; block scheduling is accommodated to the best of our ability, dependent on staffing.

Unit Details: Patient ratios are 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights. Patient population includes Ortho Trauma (fractures and joint replacements), vascular patients (fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomy, heparin drips, and many patients with wound dressing changes), urology patients (TURP, TURBT, and continuous bladder irrigation), neuro-spine patients (laminectomy, fusion, and back pain), OBGYN oncology patients (TAH/OBS), and acute medical admissions. RNs are required to titrate drips following a prescribed nomogram. Common titratable or set-rate drips include heparin; occasionally nitro, bivalirudin, Cardizem, and insulin. Telemetry technicians monitor the unit 24/7; RNs are not required to read their own strips. The unit uses CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy; ventilators are not used. From 1900-0700, RNs have different responsibilities for vital signs and ADLs than on day shift.

Shift & Scheduling: Scheduled Friday/Saturday/Sunday. Every other weekend. Every other holiday. No call.

Floating Requirements: Floats are required to other adult medical/surgical nursing units.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
