Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 12 months of experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Travel experience is preferred.
• Experience with Cerner is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Wisconsin license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <80 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 6 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Special Requests: Current or previous employees must take full 6 months off from any Sanford Health or Good Samaritan Society location as well. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Self-scheduling is not available. Block scheduling is accommodated to the best of the facility’s ability, dependent on staffing.
Unit Details: Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 on days and 1:5-6 on nights. Common diagnoses and patient types include orthopedic trauma (fractures and joint replacements); vascular cases (fem-pop bypass, carotid endarterectomy, heparin drips, and many patients with wound dressing changes); urology (TURP, TURBT, and continuous bladder irrigation); neuro-spine (laminectomy, fusion, and back pain); OB/GYN oncology (TAH/OBS); and acute medical admissions. Night-shift RNs have different responsibilities for vital signs and ADLs than day-shift RNs. RNs are required to titrate drips following a prescribed nomogram. Common titratable or set-rate drips include heparin; occasional drips include nitro, bivalirudin, Cardizem, and insulin. Telemetry technicians watch the monitors 24/7. Equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen therapy; there are no ventilators, and respiratory therapy support is present.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Every other holiday. No call.
Floating Requirements: Floating is required to other adult medical/surgical nursing units.
14 days maximum time off
2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
