Experience:
• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Travel experience is preferred.
• Experience with Cerner is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Wisconsin license or compact license (required after submission).

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <80 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Marshfield Clinic Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Marshfield Clinic Health System.

Additional Details:
Required Skills/Experience: IVs, drains, ostomies, wound vacs, NG tubes, Foley catheters, and intermediate care background required.

Previous Marshfield employees must have an end date at least 6 months prior to submission. At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. Must take full 6 months off from any Sanford Health or Good Samaritan Society location as well. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Each employment history entry must include detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, and teaching facility. Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Skills checklist cannot contain any N/As; all lines must have a numerical rating.
Unit Details: Nurse:patient ratios are 1:4 on days and 1:6 on nights. Patient population includes abdominal surgeries, ear/nose/throat surgeries, complex wounds, and general medical patients. Requires titration of heparin and, infrequently, insulin, diltiazem, amiodarone, and nitro drips. RNs are not required to read telemetry strips; monitor techs monitor rhythms, notify nurses of concerns, and document rhythms in the EHR. A unit monitor is also available for RNs to view patient rhythms. Charge nurse carries a smaller assignment; agency staff are not required to work charge. Nurse aide support ratios are 1:8 on days and 1:14 on nights. Equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, Vapotherm, and occasional tracheostomy care; no vents.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend and holiday. No call. Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.
Floating Requirements: Float on a rotation to other med/surg units if the unit is overstaffed.
