Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Colorado license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >60 miles from facility to be submitted.
• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Part-Time at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check.
Unit Details: The unit has lower resources and typically lower patient volumes. Common patient conditions include congestive heart failure (CHF), hypertension, chest pain work-ups, COPD exacerbations, asthma, pneumonia, pancreatitis, bowel obstructions, gastrointestinal bleeding, and acute renal failure. RNs titrate drips; common titratable or set-rate drips include analgesics for pain, anticoagulants for blood clots, and antihypertensives for blood pressure control. There are no tele/monitor techs; RNs must be comfortable looking at strips and escalating to a physician when concerning. The unit uses CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow equipment, and ventilators.
Shift & Scheduling: The schedule includes 6-9 weekend shifts per six-week schedule; employees are expected to self-schedule a minimum of six weekend shifts in alignment with department needs, unit staffing plans, and equitable distribution. Call or standby requirements are determined by the nurse manager. Clinicians must be in state for the week of orientation, even if the first-day modules are remote.
Floating Requirements: May be asked to float into any other acuity level, including ICU (taking low-acuity holds within the skill set), PCU/Stepdown, and MS-Tele; floating is determined by the nurse manager and department needs.
