Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Experience with Epic is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Maryland license or compact license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:
Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
Required Skills/Experience: Strong Med-Surg background due to the variety of patients.
Special Requests: If the candidate worked at a permanent facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from that facility. At least 1 reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job being applied to. Cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. No previous employment allowed at this facility. If the traveler has preferences, the manager is open to working with block scheduling.
Unit Details: Patient population includes chest pain, CHF, pneumonia, abdominal pain, pancreatitis, ortho, detox, post-op surgical, and pediatric patients. The unit can take most patient types except laboring mothers and patients on titrating cardiac drips or insulin drips. RNs do not titrate drips. ICU monitors perform strip reading and fax results to Med-Surg for nurse documentation. House supervisor makes assignments; there is no charge nurse. 3 nurse aides per shift. Uses CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow; RT assists and manages.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend required; for night shift, weekend coverage is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Holidays rotate with regular staff. No call. Extra shifts may be available.
Floating Requirements: Floating is required; Med-Surg frequently floats to assist other units as a tasker or extra set of hands.
7 days maximum time off
1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
