Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2290 per week.

Shift: 7:30 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience: Post-op care of patients is required.
Special Requests: Block scheduling will be considered but must be approved at time of contract.
Unit Details: Ratios are 4-5 patients per RN on days and 5-6 patients per RN on nights; if absolutely needed, they may increase to 1:6 on days and 1:7 on nights. Common diagnoses and patient types include post-op surgical, trauma, and overflow medical patients; care includes dressing changes, wound care, IV therapy, pain management, drains, NG tubes, central lines, and TPN. RNs are not required to titrate drips; heparin is the only common titratable or set-rate drip. There are no ventilators; patients may receive CPAP and high flow. Respiratory therapy manages nebulizers; RNs manage inhalers and may place patients on CPAP. Some patients are on telemetry with Philips monitors; bedside RNs do not read strips, and monitor technicians use a central station.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; Saturday and Sunday are the weekend shifts. Rotate every other holiday. No call. Travelers do not self-schedule.
Floating Requirements: Travelers are first to float and will float to units with the same level of experience.
14 days maximum time off
2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
