Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: - Must have prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit. - Must have heparin drip experience.

Special Requests: - At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. - Block scheduling may be accommodated if staffing permits.

Unit Details: - Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 on day shift and 1:5-6 on night shift. - Patient populations include stroke, spine surgery, seizures, brain tumors, head injuries, other neuroscience conditions, and some medical overflow. - RNs titrate drips on the unit. - Heparin drips are titrated based on PTT. - High-flow oxygen is used for stable COVID-19 patients only and is very rare. - The unit uses house-wide telemetry with Philips monitors; nurses are not required to read telemetry strips.

Shift & Scheduling: - Weekend requirement: every other weekend; Saturday and Sunday are considered the weekend for both shifts. - Holiday requirement: every other holiday. - No call.

Floating Requirements: - Float in rotation with the rest of the staff. - General unit travelers float to the general unit floor and take a full team. - If floated outside the general unit for an urgent need, the clinician will perform only skills within their competency and will be assigned with a nurse trained for that unit.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
