Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: - Prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit is required. - Heparin gtt experience is required.

Special Requests: - Block scheduling will be accommodated if staffing permits.

Unit Details: - Common patient populations include stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, other neuroscience cases, and some medical overflow. - Day-shift nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5. - RNs titrate drips; heparin is titrated based on PTT. - High-flow oxygen is used rarely for stable COVID patients. - House-wide telemetry uses Phillips monitors; nurses do not need to read telemetry strips.

Shift & Scheduling: - Weekend coverage is every other weekend; Saturday and Sunday are considered the weekend for both shifts. - Holiday coverage is required every other holiday. - No call is required.

Floating Requirements: - Floating is in rotation with the rest of the staff. A general-unit traveler floats to the general unit floor and takes a full team. If floated outside the general unit for an urgent need, the clinician performs only skills within their competency and is assigned with a nurse trained for that unit.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
