Shift: 7:30 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience: Experience with postoperative patient care is required.
Special Requests: Requested time off must be provided at submission. Block scheduling may be considered but must be approved at the time of contract.
Unit Details: The patient population includes postoperative surgical, trauma, and overflow medical patients. Common care includes dressing changes, wound care, IV therapy, pain management, drains, NG tubes, central lines, and TPN. Patient ratios are 4-5 patients per RN on days and 5-6 patients per RN on nights. Ratios may go up to 1:6 on days and 1:7 on nights if absolutely needed. Heparin is the only common titratable or set-rate drip. The unit has no ventilators; CPAP and high-flow are used. Respiratory therapists manage nebulizers, while RNs manage inhalers and may place patients on CPAP. Some patients are on telemetry with Philips monitors; monitoring is supported by a central monitor technician station.
Shift & Scheduling: Weekend coverage is every other weekend, with Saturday and Sunday as the weekend shifts. Holiday coverage rotates every other holiday. No call. Travelers do not self-schedule.
Floating Requirements: Travelers are first to float and will float to units with the same level of experience. If an ICU RN floats to a general unit, they take a team of 3 patients.

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
