Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2290 per week.

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience: - Postoperative patient care experience is required.
Special Requests: - Block scheduling will be considered but must be approved at the time of contract.
Unit Details: - Patient population includes postoperative surgical, trauma, and overflow medical patients. Unit work includes dressing changes, wound care, IV therapy, pain management, drains, NG tubes, central lines, and TPN. - Nurse-to-patient ratios are 4-5 per RN on days and 5-6 per RN on nights; if absolutely needed, ratios may increase to 1:6 on days and 1:7 on nights. - Heparin is the only common titratable or set-rate drip. - The unit has no vents; CPAP and high flow are used. Respiratory therapy manages nebulizers, while RNs manage inhalers and may place patients on CPAP. - Some patients are on telemetry with Phillips monitors, with monitor techs at a central station. - Patient care technicians assist with vitals, accu-checks, activities of daily living, turning, and ambulation. - A charge RN is available on each shift, and a house supervisor is available 24/7.
Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend; Saturday and Sunday are the weekend shifts. - Holidays rotate every other holiday. - No call.
Floating Requirements: - Travelers are the first to float and will float to a unit with the same level of experience.
14 days maximum time off
2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
