Medical Surgical Unit - Travel Registered Nurse- $2360 per week.

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a South Carolina license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >60 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: MS/Tele, telemetry, insulin, and rapid response skills required.

Special Requests: RTO is due at time of submission. Approval will be based on facility needs. Any candidate that has 7+ days and/or includes holiday RTO will have to be submitted to the facility for approval and can delay the process. If unavailable for emergency response duties, please do not confirm new assignments or extensions during hurricane season. If your start date is within 90 days, you must complete all labs within 72 hours of signing an offer with MUSC.

Unit Details: 12-bed general medical-surgical unit. Adult and geriatric patient population. Staffing plan supports 1:6 normal ratios but if there is an unplanned absence that cannot be covered, the unit will flex to 1:7. Typical adult medical-surgical diagnoses include diabetes, renal disease, hypertension, coronary artery disease, stroke, chest pain, and altered mental status. All patients are eligible for telemetry monitoring, which is performed by monitor technicians in a central location. Telemedicine is used; instruction will be provided. During hurricane season (June through November; peak months August and September), travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend required. Call required: prn low census.

Floating Requirements: Float within scope to med-surg units and sister facilities to meet facility needs.
