Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Travel experience is required.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

• Trauma Level 1 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: - Must have prior experience working on a dedicated neuro unit. - Must have heparin drip experience.

Special Requests: - Block scheduling may be accommodated when staffing permits. - Requested time off must be provided at submission.

Unit Details: - Patient population includes stroke, spine surgery, seizure, brain tumor, head injury, other neuroscience cases, and some medical overflow. - Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1:4-5 on day shifts and 1:5-6 on night shifts. - RNs titrate drips on this unit. - Heparin drips are titrated based on PTT. - High-flow oxygen is used for stable COVID-19 patients, although this is very rare. - House-wide telemetry is used; nurses do not need to read strips. Philips monitors are used.

Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend is required; Saturday and Sunday are considered the weekend for both shifts. - Every other holiday is required. - No call.

Floating Requirements: - Float in rotation with the rest of the staff. A general unit traveler floats to the general unit floor and takes a full team; if floated outside the general unit for an urgent need, they perform only skills within their competence and are assigned with a nurse trained for that unit.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months

Driver’s license required for submission
