Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Experience with Epic is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - OSF HealthCare.

Special Requests: - At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. - We attempt to accommodate block scheduling if possible but must still meet the every other weekend requirement.
Unit Details: - Ratios: Day shift 1:4-6; night shift 1:5-6. CNA ratio 1:10-15. - Charge nurse is usually available 24/7 depending on the schedule and may take patient assignments if needed. - Tele patients are monitored by a central monitor tech; strip visualization is available on the floor if needed. Lasix and Heparin drips are the most common on Med-Surg. - No vents on the unit. The unit does receive BiPAP, CPAP, and high-flow patients. - Multiple hospitalists are in house on day shift. APN coverage is in house at night, and eHospitalist support is available during night shift. - No IV team. RT is available 24/7. Pharmacy is onsite during the day, with ePharmacist support available after hours; the nursing supervisor assists with medication needs as well. - Common diagnoses/types of patients: COPD, sepsis, CVA, COVID, pneumonia, and surgical patients including hips, knees, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, and bowel resections.
Shift & Scheduling: - Self-scheduling is available but, given the short contract terms, the manager will put schedules in. - Every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday). - No call requirement. - May be required to work every other holiday if needed.
Floating Requirements: - May float to another floor if they have the competency to do so. When floating, you will always take a full patient assignment (ICU RNs included).
14 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 09/07/2026, 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 12/31/2026, 01/01/2027, 05/31/2027, 07/04/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 1
2 Charge/Lead references required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
