Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Travel experience is required.
• Experience with Epic is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role will require floating to multiple units
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.
• 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.
Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.
References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.
Required Skills/Experience: Strong knowledge in Med-Surg, infectious disease, and isolation precautions.
Special Requests: Block scheduling is allowed as long as the needs of the unit are met.
Unit Details: Ratios: 1:5-6; 1:4 if Covid. Infectious disease and isolation patient population, including Covid, MRSA, and C-Diff. All private rooms due to infectious diseases. No cardiac drips; common drips and IV medications include heparin, antibiotics, and other typical Med-Surg IV medications. Patients may require CPAP, BiPAP, or high flow, managed by respiratory therapy; no vents. Remote telemetry monitoring from the 3rd floor with monitors at the desk; RNs do not read or interpret strips.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; for nights, weekend shifts are Fri/Sat/Sun. Holidays will depend on the needs of the unit. If there is not enough permanent staff to cover holidays, travelers will be expected to work holidays.
Floating Requirements: Travelers are the first to float. Floating is required to any Med-Surg units. If floated to Tele, patients will be assigned within skillset.
7 days maximum time off
1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
