Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 6 months of Operating Room experience with any experience within the last 4 months.

Requirements:

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• No current placement allowed at Program: FlexCare Partner Network Program - Adventist Health.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Six months of OR experience or completed Scrub Tech course. Must have 2 years of experience with ortho, totals, GYN, and general.

Preferred Credentials: High school diploma/GED or equivalent preferred. Associate’s/technical degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience preferred.

Unit Details: Assists with preparation of surgical procedures in the operating room. Creates and maintains a sterile field and retracts and passes instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons during cases. Prepares surgical cases by checking required supplies and equipment and setting up operative instrumentation for expedient retrieval and utilization. Reviews specialty equipment inventory, completes instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the RN, and labels solutions according to established standards. May transport patients and provide clerical duties.

Shift & Scheduling: Shift start times are 6:30 or 8:30; days of the week are not set. Call one night per week and one weekend per month.

Floating Requirements: You may be required to float to Adventist Health locations within 30 miles.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years

Driver’s license required

Certifications:

• BLS (Basic Life Support)

• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA)) or the alternative certifications CORST, NCORST, NCST, NCST, NRCST, TS-C
