Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to work with Peds, NICU and/or PICU, etc., with at least 2 years in a hospital setting. Oscillator experience within the last 5 years. ECMO experience is not required.

Required Credentials: Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.

Unit Details: Respiratory care includes airway management, mechanical ventilator management, oxygen therapy, aerosol medication delivery, breathing exercises, arterial punctures, and other respiratory care procedures and treatments. Airway management includes aspiration of established airways, tracheostomy care and tube changes, and endotracheal intubations and extubations. May perform basic bedside pulmonary function testing and pulmonary function testing as needed. Patient population includes pediatric and neonatal patients. When working with Carolina Air Care, may transport pediatric and neonatal patients from referral hospitals under the UNC Air Care Protocol. May perform advanced-practice procedures under the UNC Air Care Protocol, including UAC, UVC, IV insertion, chest tube insertion, needle decompression, ABGs and blood glucose monitoring, with additional procedures as deemed necessary by the medical control officer. May manage extracorporeal circulation for cardiac and respiratory support when working with ECMO. Ventilator care includes setup, function verification, specialized ventilator modes, patient monitoring, and weaning techniques.

Shift & Scheduling: On-call may be required during days, nights, weekends and holidays. On-call: 1 weekend per 6 weeks. Weekend requirement: 6 shifts per 6 weeks. Must be able to work holidays if needed.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 2 years

Proof of identification required

Certifications:

• RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)

• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or the alternative certifications ACLS (American Heart Association (AHA), Red Cross), NRP, CPFT

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
