Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:
Required Credentials: - Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. - Depending upon the population served and practice area, an advanced practice certificate to administer moderate sedation in the Bronchoscopy Lab is accepted as one of the required practice-area credentials.
Unit Details: - Provides respiratory care for pediatric patients, including airway management, mechanical ventilator management, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, and respiratory care procedures and treatments. - Respiratory care includes aerosol medication delivery, basic bedside pulmonary function testing, breathing exercises, arterial punctures, tracheostomy care and tube changes, endotracheal intubations and extubations, and pulmonary function testing as needed. - May transport pediatric and neonatal patients from referral hospitals with Carolina Air Care per UNC Air Care Protocol. - May perform advanced practice procedures, including UAC, UVC, IV insertion, chest tube insertion, needle decompression, ABGs, and blood glucose monitoring, as deemed necessary by the medical control officer. - When working with ECMO, may manage extracorporeal circulation for cardiac and respiratory support of patients. - Ventilator care includes setup, function verification, use of specialized ventilator modes, patient monitoring, and weaning techniques.
Shift & Scheduling: - On-call: 6 shifts per 6 weeks; may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. - Weekend requirement: 1 weekend per 6 weeks. - Must be able to work UNC holidays.
14 days maximum time off
2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 2 years
