Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Experience:
• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.
• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:
Required Credentials: Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Depending upon the population served and practice area, and regardless of whether the clinician is an RRT or CRT, all teammates must have at least one of the following: ACLS, NRP, PALS, CPFT, or an advanced practice certificate to administer moderate sedation in the Bronchoscopy Lab.
Special Requests: Candidates must be able to start on 11/23 only. Will consider block schedule requests.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Holidays as needed. May be required to be on-call on days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Unit Details: Respiratory care includes airway management, mechanical ventilator management, oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, respiratory care procedures and treatments, basic bedside pulmonary function testing, breathing exercises and arterial punctures; pulmonary function testing may be performed as needed. Airway management includes aspiration of established airways, tracheostomy care, tracheostomy tube changes, endotracheal intubations and extubations. When working with Carolina Air Care, may transport pediatric and neonatal patients from referral hospitals per UNC Air Care Protocol. May perform respiratory care and advanced practice procedures per UNC Air Care Protocol, including UAC, UVC, IV insertion, intraosseous insertion, chest tube insertion, needle decompression, ABGs and blood glucose monitoring, as well as other procedures deemed necessary by the medical control officer. When working with ECMO, may manage extracorporeal circulation for cardiac and respiratory support of patients. Ventilator care includes setting up ventilators, verifying function, using specialized ventilator modes to manage the patient’s disease process, monitoring patients and providing weaning techniques.
