Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Telemetry Unit experience.

• Experience with Meditech is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Louisiana license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: 2 years of Med Tele experience in an acute care setting. First-time travelers are accepted only with 2 years of permanent staff RN experience in acute care. Post-surgical recovery, PIV skills, central line care, and TR bands are required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Cardiac rhythm interpretation is preferred.

Required Credentials: Traveler must pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance before arrival (includes Med-Surg RNs).

Special Requests: Travelers must be separated for 1 year if previously a permanent staff member. RTO of up to 7 days requires a 1-week assignment extension for every full week requested off. Only 1 weekend of RTO may be requested per 13-week contract.

Unit Details: Patient population includes medical, surgical, telemetry, CHF, post-cath lab (no sheath removal), pacemaker, dialysis, and COPD patients. Common non-titrating cardiac drips include dobutamine, Cardizem, and heparin. RN ratios are 1:5 on days and 1:6 on nights; the CNA ratio is 1:10, with 3 CNAs on days and nights. Phlebotomy, respiratory therapy, and hospitalist support are in-house; OT, PT, and ST services are available. An IV/VAT team is available 7a-3p. A resource nurse is available depending on staffing. Telemetry monitoring and a telemetry technician are available, along with an admit nurse. Uses Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing.

Shift & Scheduling: Blue schedule: 3/2, with 4 days one week and 3 days the next week; this is mandatory. Weekend rotation is every other weekend. Will work 2/3 holidays. No call.

Floating Requirements: Floats to other Med-Surg or Tele units on a rotational basis.

7 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
