Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Telemetry Unit experience.

• Experience with Meditech is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Louisiana license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <50 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Flu vaccination required after submission. Religious, medical, and personal declinations accepted.

• Anyone currently working at this facility cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: 2 years Med Tele experience in an acute care setting. First-time travelers must have 2 years of perm staff RN experience in acute care. Post-surgical recovery, PIV skills, central line care, TR bands, and non-titrating cardiac drip skills with dobutamine, Cardizem, and heparin are required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Cardiac rhythm interpretation preferred.

Required Credentials: Traveler will be required to pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance, prior to arrival (includes MedSurg RN).

Special Requests: Travelers must be separated for 1 year if previously a perm staff member. RTO of up to 7 days is allowed, but the assignment must be extended 1 week for every full week requested off. May only request 1 weekend of RTO per 13-week contract.

Unit Details: Patient types include medical, surgical, telemetry, CHF, post-cath-lab (no sheath removal), pacemakers, dialysis, and COPD. The CNA-to-patient ratio is 1:10. Phlebotomy, RT, and a hospitalist are in-house; OT, PT, and ST support is available. The IV/VAT team is available 7a-3p. Telemetry monitoring and a telemetry technician are available. An admit nurse is available. The unit uses Alaris IV pumps and Pyxis medication dispensing.

Shift & Scheduling: The schedule is a 3/2 blue schedule, with 4 days one week and 3 days the next week; this is mandatory. Weekend rotation is every other weekend. No call. The clinician will work 2 of 3 holidays.

Floating Requirements: Floats to other Med-Surg or Tele units in rotation with staff.

7 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months
