Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 12 months of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Travel experience is preferred.

• Experience with Cerner is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Wisconsin license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <80 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Marshfield Clinic Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - Marshfield Clinic Health System.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. Resume: Each employment history entry must include all the following: detailed duties, hospital size, unit size, trauma level (if applicable), patient ratio, teaching facility. Skills Checklist: Cannot contain any N/As; all lines must have a numerical rating.

Required Skills/Experience: IVs, drains, ostomies, wound vacs, NG tubes, Foley catheters, electronic health record experience, and intermediate care background required.

Special Requests: Must take a full 6 months off from any Sanford Health or Good Samaritan Society location as well. Must disclose previous employment on your resume or elsewhere within the submission for a DNU check. Any employment gaps greater than 30 days must be explained. Must note in submission if clinician has ever worked for Marshfield. If previously worked with Marshfield, the end date must be 6 months prior to the submission date. Block scheduling is not guaranteed, but every effort is made to provide block schedules whenever possible, especially for night shifts.

Unit Details: Nurse-patient ratios: 1:4 (days), 1:6 (nights). Common patient population includes abdominal surgeries, ear/nose/throat surgeries, complex wounds, and general medical patients. RNs titrate drips including heparin and, infrequently, insulin, diltiazem, amiodarone, and nitro. Monitor techs are available; RNs are not required to read their own telemetry strips. Techs monitor and call the nurse for concerns, and rhythms are recorded in the EHR. A unit monitor is also available for RNs to view patient rhythms. Charge nurse takes a smaller assignment; agency staff are not required to work in the charge role. Nurse aide support ratios: 1:8 (days), 1:14 (nights). Equipment includes CPAP, BiPAP, vapotherm, and occasional tracheostomy care; no vents.

Shift & Scheduling: Variable day/evening mix with 07-1930 and 1100-2330 shifts. Every other weekend. Every other holiday. No call. Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week.

Floating Requirements: Float on a rotation to other med/surg units if the unit is overstaffed.

Details:

AUTO OFFER - NO INTERVIEW: This is an auto-offer position. You will likely not interview with the facility prior to receiving an offer. However, an interview can be arranged upon request. All time off requests must be submitted at application. Scheduling requests must be worked out with the manager directly upon starting the assignment. Any offers for this job will require a clear “Yes” or “No” response from the nurse within 24hrs or the offer must be declined.
