Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
Experience:
• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.
• Experience with Epic is required.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.
• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.
Special Requests: If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility. Eligibility as current/previous employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to. Block scheduling may be considered upon request.
Unit Details: Mainly 1:5-6 for both days and nights on most units; once or twice a month could have 7 patients toward the end of the shift, depending on patient acuity. Night charge takes patients; day charge does not. All units use CNAs. Uses Phillips telemetry; most units have monitor techs, but RNs must be able to read and interpret strips. CPAP and BiPAP only; RT manages. Some units could have BiPAP or CPAP. RT is in-house 24/7, but RNs do aerosols for non-vented patients as well as EKGs. Uses Accudose. Common diagnoses/types of patients: CHF, cardiac cath, CP, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, ortho, and oncology; permanent staff administer chemo.
Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend. Work in the holiday rotation schedule with permanent staff.
Floating Requirements: If floating to Critical Care, will be assigned med/surg or stepdown type patients.
7 days maximum time off
1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years
1 Manager/Supervisor reference required from within the last 12 months
Driver’s license required for submission
Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
